On July 22, Bhutan will be one of the select countries to experience a total eclipse of the Sun. The viewing point for this tour is from the Ta Dzong Museum in Trongsa, the ancestral home of Bhutan's ruling dynasty. As the moon begins to creep over the sun, the sky will turn to a shade of deep red then dark purple, cobolt grey and eventually complete darkness will prevail. Following the eclipse, the tour continues on to Bumthang. You will visit fortresses, palaces and many sacred sites. Also includes sightseeing in Thimphu, Punakha and Paro. (* Since Bhutan's wet season includes July, it is important to note that perfect viewing conditions of the eclipse cannot be guaranteed. It may be necessary to modify the itinerary to ensure viewing chances.) |
